Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 3 – Lao health minister Bounfeng Phommalaysith expressed deepest gratitude to Cambodia for donating 500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine and three buses.

The handover ceremony took place on Friday at Trapeang Kriel International border checkpoint in Stung Treng Province, between Cambodian health minister Mom Bunheng, representative of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, and Lao health minister Bounfeng Phommalaysith

“On behalf of the Government and the People of Laos, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Government and the People of Cambodia, in particularly Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, for providing this valuable aids in order to fight against COVID19 despite the fact that Cambodia also suffer from this pandemic,” Lao health minister said.

Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced to donate USD 13 million and 500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine to the Lao government and the people to fight against COVID19 during the bilateral meeting between Cambodian and Lao prime minister at Peace Palace, Phnom Penh on 29 November 2021.

In 2020, Cambodia provided humanitarian aid such as 2 million face masks and other 11 medical equipment to Laos and additional 200,000 dose of Sinovac vaccine on 29 September 2021.
