Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged people not to panic about COVID19 Omicron variant, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh on Wednesday.

“Please don't panic about Omicron variant. Sometimes too much fear may lead to misjudgment on the situation. Cambodia has detected the first case of the variant, so vaccination alone is not enough, please strictly adhere to health measures,” the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, “We cannot enforce lockdown again. COVID19 death is a bad news; however, it will be far worse if our economy collapses, which affects 16 million people. Therefore, we should learn to live with COVID19.”
