Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 21 – Cambodian president of the National Assembly Heng Samrin and president of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of the new administrative building of the National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday.

The NA secretary general Leng Penglong said that the USD 25-million building was granted from the Vietnamese government to the Royal Government of Cambodia during the official visit of general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong to the kingdom in July 2017.

The new building will be built on an area of 27 meters wide, 49 meters long, and 12 stories high, with two underground parking garages.

Penglong says the new building reflects a strong friendship between the two countries.
