Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 22 – President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a high-level delegation departed Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Wednesday, after concluding a two-day state visit to the kingdom.

The president and delegation arrived in Phnom Penh on 21 December 2021.

During the state visit, president Nguyen Xuan Phuc was granted Royal Audiences by Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni and queen mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, at the Throne Hall and Preah Reach Damnak Kantha Bopha, in the Royal Palace Ground, respectively.

The Vietnamese president also received separate courtesy calls by president of the Senate Say Chhum, president of the National Assembly Heng Samrin, and Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen.

The president also presided over the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the new administrative building of the National Assembly with president of the National Assembly Heng Samrin and witnessed the Signing Ceremony of some important documents with premier Hun Sen.

The president also laid wreath at the Independence Monument, the Monument of Cambodian-Vietnamese Friendship. and the basket of flowers to the Monument of the late King-Father.

On the second day, president Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid courtesy calls on His Holiness Buddhist Supreme Patriarch General Tep Vong, Buddhist Supreme Patriarch of Dhamma Mahanikaya of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Holiness Samdech Preah Abhisiri Sugandha Mohasangharajah Dhipati Bour Kry, Great Supreme Buddhist Supreme Patriarch of Dhammayuttikanikaya of Cambodia.

The state visit of president Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Kingdom will further strengthen and deepen bilateral relations under the spirit of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-lasting peace and stability between the two countries for the mutual benefits of the two peoples.
