Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday revealing a secret letter from his eldest son Hun Manet 28 years ago.

"My son Hun Manet, who was then studying at the University of New York, USA, wrote me a secret letter stating his intention to pursue military and political science studies with his commitment to study for a PhD in economics. This letter no longer needs to be kept secret as it has been almost 28 years. Manet is now knowledgeable in the field of economics, politics and the military as stated in this letter,” the premier wrote.

“Reading this letter, one will understand Manet better, and what is not in this letter is that Manet took an internship at the World Bank and he was sent to work in the Congo after graduating with a master's degree from New York University,” the premier added.

Samdech continued, “Manet used to live with a French family in France and picked apples for the family to learn French. While studying for a PhD in the UK, Manet started teaching maths to sophomores and juniors to earn some money to save his parents' expenses.”
