Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen demanded the General Department of Taxation (GDT), the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE), and the General Department of National Treasury (GDNT) to report to him the revenues on a daily basis.

The premier spoke at the inauguration of new office building of the GDCE on Thursday.

"The three institutions must send reports of tax revenue, customs revenue, cash in the National Treasury and exchange rate to me by 7 pm, so that I can effectively manage the national revenues,” the premier underlined.

Within 11 months of 2021, customs revenue was USD 2,055 million, equivalent to 87 percent of its target plan. Within the same period, the GDT earned USD 2,560 million, equivalent to 114 percent of its target plan. Therefore, Cambodia earned more than USD 4 billion in revenue, which is able to support the government expenditure.
