Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that during the COVID19 crisis, the Royal Government of Cambodia has spent more than USD 30 million per month on nearly 3 million affected vulnerable households.

The premier spoke at the inauguration of new office building General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) on Thursday.

“We have to take care of our nearly 3 million people, which we spend more than USD 30 million a month, not counting the expenses covered at the hospitals,” the premier added.

At least 680,000 poor households continue to receive government subsidies every month, while the government allocated budgets on other social assistance programs.

Cambodia has spent approximately USD 2.3 billion during the COVID19 crisis, which has lasted for more than two years.
