Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 24 – The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) announced the results of its 43rd Central Committee Meeting on Friday having four agendas discussed.

The election was held Friday at the CPP headquarters during the 43rd Central Committee Meeting of the 5th Mandate of the CPP under the chairmanship of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and CPP’s honorary president Heng Samrin. At least 775 members out of a total of 865 attended the meeting.

The meeting achieved the following results:

1. Elect Tea Banh and Men Sam An as the vice presidents of the ruling party.

2. Support premier Hun Sen as candidate of the next prime minister and unanimously elected Hun Manet as candidate of future Cambodia's prime minister.

3. Discuss issues on the implementation of the joint plan towards the Commune/Sangkat Council Election 5th Mandate 2022

4. Analyze in-depth the 2021 situations and set out the party’s goals in 2022.

The CPP’s Central Committee called on all committees at all levels, all working groups, members and officials of the CPP to strengthen solidarity and internal unity, and strive to implement the party's political programs and decisions in order to serve the noble interests of the nation and the people.

The ruling party called on all Cambodian people inside and outside the country to continue to be united under constitutional monarchy and the cool shade of king Norodom Sihamoni to maintain the kingdom’s peace, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The CPP also called on compatriots to continue to strictly implement health safety measures to prevent the COVID19 outbreak and to work together to restore and boost the kingdom’s socio-economic activities.
