Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 28 – The Japanese government announced to invite Cambodian lieutenant general Hun Manet to pay an official visit to Japan and grant more aids to the kingdom to fight against COVID19 and restore her economy.

Japanese ambassador to Cambodia Mikami Masahiro informed Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen at a courtesy call on Tuesday at the premier’s residence in Takhmau city.

The premier welcomed Japan’s invitation extended to Hun Manet; and looked forward to the docking of Japan's self-defense ship in Cambodia's port to commemorate the 30th anniversary of peacekeeping cooperation. Samdech also proposed to strengthen and expand Cambodia-Japan cooperation in defense sector.

Premier Hun Sen thanked the Japanese government and people for their assistances, especially vaccine donations and other equipment to assist Cambodia in the fight against COVID19; and thanked Japan for donating vehicles, equipment and cooperation to ensure Cambodia’s success in hosting the incoming ASEAN Summit.
