Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen once again said that those who oppose the ceasefire want people to die of war, and those who oppose humanitarian relief want people to die of starvation and illness.

The premier spoke at the inauguration ceremony of National Road No. 5 improvement project on Monday.

“We identified that those who opposed Myanmar’s ceasefire and humanitarian relief are from the extremist group. They might consist of both Cambodians and Burmese and could be somewhere in Paris, the United States, Thailand, the Philippines, or somewhere else,” the premier underlined.

The premier said he is not mad with Burmese people who opposed his official visit to Myanmar.

“You [Burmese people] will learn that your life will be rescued from war by the role of ASEAN initiated by Cambodia's visit to Myanmar," the premier said.

The absence of violence in Myanmar will create a peaceful environment for constructive dialogue and national elections, which is set to hold in August 2023, the premier continued.
