Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 11 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn met with visiting British minister of state for Asia Amanda Milling on Tuesday.

Cambodia and the United Kingdom pledged to address Myanmar’s crisis.

“Based on our dynamic bilateral discussion this morning, Cambodia and the UK share many interests and visions for development. We touched on the fights against the pandemic, embracing the opportunities to build back better, the Myanmar issue, and human rights protection, among others,” Prak Sokhonn wrote on his Facebook on Tuesday.

He added, “I took this opportunity to thank the government and the people of the UK for their generosity extended to Cambodia through various kinds of support, particularly as evident by vaccine donation. ASEAN is eager to work even more closely with the UK as it has become ASEAN's 11th Dialogue Partner last year.”

Amanda Milling also tweeted, “as a new dialogue partner, we committed to working closely with Cambodia as 2022 chair of ASEAN to address the region's biggest challenges, boost trade and offer UK expertise in building back better.”
