Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 13 – A Cambodian-American Richardson, who is currently living in Cambodia, supported Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen’s official visit to Myanmar.

Speaking in a video interview with Fresh News on Thursday, Richardson supported the fact that the premier shared Cambodia’s successful win-win policy to Myanmar and achieved fruitful outcomes.

Richardson considered the premier a role model for other leaders.

“Premier Hun Sen is a good leader who visited and shared political experience to Myanmar. I am very delighted and wish Cambodia a successful ASEAN chairmanship in 2022.”

Richardson continued, “I would like to urge everyone to stay calm and let premier Hun Sen work. We should support him strengthen and build friendship, as well as mutual understanding among the people of Myanmar in order to bring peace, having Cambodia as an example.”

During Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen’s recent visit, Myanmar’s senior general Min Aung Hlaing informed Cambodian premier Hun Sen that the Myanmar government had declared a five-month ceasefire with all Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) until the end of February 2022 and decided to further extend it until end of 2022. He assured the facilitation of the visit of the special envoy to Myanmar and to meet with all parties concerned including EAOs taking into account of the prevailing situation in Myanmar.
