Sihanoukville (FN), Jan. 19 – ASEAN tourism ministers and delegates together with the ASEAN secretary general jointly announced the reopening of ASEAN tourism on Wednesday evening in Sihanoukville.

The reopening aims to restore ASEAN social-economic activities as follows:

 1. Launch infra-ASEAN travel to create ASEAN Travel Corridor and a digital vaccination card

 2. Identify the COVID19 vaccine as the key to achieving community resilience towards the revitalization of the tourism industry

 3. Encourage people to live the new normal by strictly adhering to health and safety measures

 4. Ensure that tourism services and businesses operate in accordance with ASEAN principles on hygiene and safety for tourism professionals and communities

 5. Boost trust and confidence of all tourism operators and service providers in the ASEAN region.

On that occasion, Cambodian tourism minister Thong Khon also announced the new ASEAN Tourism Logo and the ASEAN Safe Travel Stamp, namely “Safe and Warm" as part of the reopening.
