Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 11 – President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in requested Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen to support the Republic of Korea’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

President Moon spoke in a working meeting with Cambodian premier Hun Sen on Friday in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

"Moon requested Cambodia to support the candidacy of the Republic of Korea to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and especially a member of the UN Human Rights Council," according to delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn.

Premier Hun Sen responded that if Cambodia has yet voiced support over any country, the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will consider this case.
