Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen called on people living in Phnom Penh to continue to fight against COVID19, especially Omicron variant.

The premier spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Japan-aided sewage treatment plant in Phnom Penh on Tuesday (22 Feb).

There was zero death case reported for over the past 45 days, yet over the last three days, Cambodia reported death cases for three consecutive days. In this sense, premier Hun Sen urged people to stay alert, protect themselves and strictly adhere to the health measures.

The premier added that fighting against COVID19 is an obligation for everyone, not just only the responsibility of the government and the health ministry.

Today (22 Feb), Cambodia reported 598 new Omicron cases, 358 recoveries and two deaths. To date, Cambodia has confirmed 127,575 cases of COVID19 with 121,125 recoveries and 3,022 deaths.
