Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen ordered all state institutions to reduce any unnecessary expenses, while the kingdom is battling against COVID19 crisis.

The premier spoke at the annual meeting of the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday afternoon.

On that occasion, the premier Hun Sen also advised finance minister Aun Pornmoniroth to manage expenditures efficiently as the Royal Government needs more funds to cope with the pandemic.

“I would like to ask you [state institutions] to save money and postpone any unnecessary projects to ensure a positive cash flow,” the premier underlined.

Cambodia has spent approximately USD 2.3 billion during over two years of COVID19 crisis.
