Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned to destroy approximately 5,000 unpaid-duty vehicles, speaking at the annual meeting of the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday afternoon.

As of 22 February 2022, the General Department of Customs and Excise collected more than $51.6 million from duties of 5,993 vehicles, while approximately 5,000 vehicles have yet paid.

Premier Hun Sen reiterated that right-hand drive vehicles and car owners who take refuge under various license plates are not allowed on the road.

Cambodia has appealed to car owners to declare imported duties since 19 September 2021.
