Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his intention to have at least one Khmer-Muslim as a deputy governor for each province, city, district in order to coordinate for harmony among Cambodia’s ethnic groups.

The premier spoke at the annual meeting of the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday afternoon.

Premier Hun Sen urged all Khmer-Muslim students and officers to improve their knowledge to pursue high ranking positions in the government.

According to the premier, most Khmer-Muslim people are currently residing in Kampong Cham, Kratie, Kampong Thom, Pursat, Kampot and Phnom Penh.
