Prey Veng (FN), Mar. 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen shared the current situation of the COVID19 pandemic in the kingdom in response to media outlets and countries that underestimated Cambodia’s ability to cope with pandemic.

The premier spoke in an inauguration ceremony of SOS children’s village in Prey Veng on Thursday.

"How many countries and media outlets insult Cambodia over her weak medical system? Currently, Cambodia detects only 130 of Omicron variant per day and no death case reported today (16 Mar). However, thousands of death cases reported around the world. So now, should we assess the technology advancement or the responsibility?” the premier underlined.

According to the premier, the effective management of COVID19 is not only based on modern medical equipment, but on the commitment, conscience, dedication and efforts of the medical experts.

Cambodia has overcome three COVID19 community transmission, including the 3 November community event, the 28 November, and the 20 February.

To date, Cambodia has so far vaccinated more than 92 percent of the total population. Nearly 8 million people have received third dose and more than 1.1 million received the fourth shot.
