Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that a comfortable office is not a priority for Cambodia, but a shelter and children's need.

The premier spoke during a courtesy called by SOS Children's Village president Wordofa Dereje on Thursday at the Peace Palace.

The SOS president expressed his deep excitement for premier Hun Sen's speech during the inauguration of SOS Children’s Village in Prey Veng today (17 Mar) as it reflected the concern of the well-beings and the future of Cambodian children. He also thanked Samdech and the Royal Government for choosing SOS organization to be a partner.

Wordofa Dereje said SOS has achieved its mission to help children through giving a family, spreading love and care over the past 20 years. In particular, providing education that turns the children’s dreams into reality.

On that occasion, the premier was very pleased to become a partner with the SOS Children's Village. He expressed strong commitment to helping Cambodian children.

"A comfortable office is not a priority for Cambodia but a shelter and the needs of children are,” the premier underlined.

Premier Hun Sen agreed with the organization on the children’s welfare and education, which will provide them sufficient knowledge to seek employment and do business as they desire.

The SOS children's village in Prey Veng province is one of the many SOS children's villages in Cambodia that raises orphans, abandoned children and children facing inappropriate care. SOS villages were established in Cambodia since 1999. Now there are villages throughout the kingdom such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, Ratanakiri, Kratie, Kampot and Prey Veng.
