Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Japanese prime minister Kishida Fumio praised Cambodia’s effort and her spirit in seeking peace and rebuilding her country, which was once destroyed by the civil war.

The world should learn from Cambodia and her spirit of safeguarding peace, premier Kishida Fumio spoke in a joint conference with Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen on 20 March 2022.

"Every time I visit Cambodia, I think of the value of peace. I would like to pay my respect to the Cambodian people for their efforts in seeking peace and rehabilitation of their war-torn country. We should learn from Cambodia as currently, the world situation has threatened the peaceful lives of the people,” Japanese premier underlined.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen also shared from his own experience that a war can never end a war and that a peaceful resolution should be pursued.

Kishida Fumio expressed his optimism for Cambodia's economic growth and that Japan will continue to help boost investment through strengthening supply chains and providing training for capacity building of Cambodian human resources.
