Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged Cambodia-Pakistan to review possible bilateral cooperation in the kingdom’s potential sectors for mutual benefits.

The primer spoke during a courtesy call by newly appointed Pakistani ambassador to Cambodia Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem on Tuesday (22 Mar) at the Peace Palace.

According to premier’s personal secretary Eang Sophalleth, the premier encouraged the Pakistani ambassador to review possible cooperation on various potential sectors.

Samdech continued, economic, trade and investment cooperation are important for Cambodia-Pakistan bilateral relations, which marks 70th anniversary in 2022.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen briefed ambassador about Cambodia’s chairmanship of ASEAN Summit 2022. He shared about Cambodia’s desire to reopen socio-economic activities in the ASEAN region.

Samdech also thanked the government of Pakistan for providing scholarships to Cambodian students and requested them to provide more scholarships to the kingdom.

Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem said Pakistan considers Cambodia as a key partner.

The ambassador pledged to promote relations in all fields in order to strengthen and elevate bilateral cooperation of the two countries to a new level.
