Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned that if the cracking down on fishing crimes can not be achieved, one should give up being the provincial governor, a minister, a police chief or a military leader, speaking at the annual meeting of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on Wednesday.

"If you are not able to fully crack down crimes in Tonle Sap Lake, the lake will be running out of fish soon," the premier said.

"If we do not take action in time, we will not only lose the 60,000 hectares of flooded forests but also let people further commit crimes, premier Hun Sen underlined.

Each province must lay out its own plan to effectively crack down on the illegal fishing activities, the premier warned.
