Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 25 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that age is not a matter for becoming a successor, but the capability is.

The premier spoke in an inauguration of the official use of National Road No. 51 on Friday in Kampong Speu province.

“Younger generation has the knowledge but lacks of experience, while the elder is rich in experience but lacks of knowledge [...] the well-experienced elder should not underestimate the younger generation, and the educated generation should not underestimate the previous generation, especially when it comes to leading the country,” the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party includes people of all ranges of age, from under 90 years old to under 40.

For the upcoming 2023 elections, premier Hun Sen has made it clear that he remains the candidate for the prime minister position.

The premier was appointed as deputy prime minister and foreign minister at the age of 27, and later elected to become the prime minister at the age of 32.
