Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 31 – U-Pay led by the CEO, Koh Hao Jie, and PUC, the biggest private university in Cambodia, founded by the former minister of education, youth and sports, the president, Kol Pheng, have entered into a long-term strategic partnership on 28 March 2022 that will provide and expand the scope of local payment service for over 25,000 university students and 1,500 employees under U-Pay scheme.

This agreement between the two parties has taken place at the West Campus of PUC. Although U-Pay and PUC may have different missions, cultures and structures, this partnership, in the words of Koh Hao Jie, “believes to find a common ground in regards of changing the payment method that means improving one’s lifestyle, in which U-Pay commits to provide PUC innovative ways during the rapid development of Cambodia, regardless of the challenges brought by COVID19 pandemic restrictions.”

With the collaboration, Koh Hao Jie highlights that for his employees, an integral part of the organization is to enhance human resource leadership and management capabilities for better workforce productivity and increased profitability. The training and development programs organized by the PUC team will support the performance of U-Pay employees and improve the company culture. In addition to that, Koh will be providing internship programs to increase the university students’ interest and to keep a deep bench of tech-savvy talent at U-Pay’s fingertips. Likewise, this will be a huge opportunity for U-Pay and PUC to elevate one and all.

On the part of PUC, Executive Leadership Institute, Nget Sokla, who signed as well the MoU, has recognized the niche of PUC in digital payment business and is committed to scale up U-Pay’s payment method at PUC system. Nget Sokla underscores that “this partnership will not only take us faster to what we aim to achieve, but more importantly, it will make us all better.”

Ultimately, U-Pay supports of becoming part of PUC’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs and projects to magnify the commitment to corporate citizenship.
