Siem Reap (FN), Apr. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned social analysts not to analyze that the new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is for the Chinese military to strengthen their capacity.

The premier spoke during an inspection of the new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport on Sunday (Apr 3).

"I would like to urge all analysts not to think that the new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is for strengthening Chinese military capacity. It would be totally wrong to say so," the premier underlined.

Premier Hun Sen added that Cambodia does not need foreign troops in the kingdom, but tourists.

The new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is the result of the kingdom’s complete peace and good relations between Cambodia and China, the premier added.

Samdech continued that when the airport finished, it will generate more jobs for the local people.
