Siem Reap (FN), Apr. 4 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reacted to a real estate developer who criticized the authorities on the height restriction of buildings in Siem Reap.

The premier spoke at the inauguration for the official use of 38 roads in Siem Reap on Monday.

"I want to remind real estate investors who criticized that Siem Reap cannot be developed due to the height restriction of buildings. Please do not compare Siem Reap’s real estate market to other provinces. If we violate the conditions set by UNESCO, we will lose our Angkor Wat’s World Heritage status,” the premier underlined.

Premier Hun Sen added that some developed countries who violated UNESCO requirements have been removed from the World Heritage list. Samdech also urged real estate investor Kim Heang to stop criticizing the authorities regarding the height of construction.
