Siem Reap (FN), Apr. 4 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that all 38 roads in Siem Reap have been named after Cambodian former kings and dignitaries, who brought achievements for the kingdom.

The premier spoke in the inauguration for the official use of 38 roads in Siem Reap on Monday (Apr 4).

“We have named the 38 roads after Cambodian former kings and dignitaries who built achievement and contributed to a peace seeking journey for the kingdom. However, we did not includes the names of traitors who betrayed the nations such as Lon Nol, Serey Matak, Cheng Heng, Son Ngoc Thanh, Sam Sary and other people. They can name the roads as they wish, but need to wait until they win [elections],” the premier underlined.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen said that Siem Reap has one boulevard called "Samdech Norodom Sihanouk Blvd", which connect Siem Reap and Angkor.

Samdech also recalled the history that Siem Reap is the last place where Cambodia ended the civil war, which was called Siem Reap-Oddar Meanchey in the past. Due to the fruitful of peace, Cambodia is able to build many infrastructures nationwide, in particular the new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport.
