Japan (FN), Apr. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen asked Japan to upgrade the bilateral relations to "comprehensive strategic partnership". Japanese prime minister Kishida Fumio said he will consider the proposal, according to delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn.

Cambodian premier Hun Sen and Kishida met at the sidelines of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit, held on Saturday (23 Apr) in Kumamoto City, Japan.

"The two leaders also discussed regional and international issues, including Myanmar crisis, the Korean Peninsula, and the South China Sea," the delegate minister said.
