Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 25 – The international conference took place on 22 April 2022, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at Hyatt Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, streamed live on AVT's Facebook page and YouTube. It was hosted by the Asian Vision Institute and sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of China. The conference kicked off with AVI’s chairman of the board, Sok Siphana, welcoming all guests and participants, followed by the keynote speech delivered by Sim Sokheng, secretary of state, Cambodia Ministry of Commerce. The conference is opened by Wu Guoquan, commercial counsellor, the Embassy of People's Republic of China.

“The aim of this international conference, according to Siphana, is to build public awareness of these two trade agreements, the RCEP and CCFTA. The effect of this awareness will boost awareness of Cambodian business and the economic growth of Cambodia. The Ministry of Commerce secretary Sim Sokheng reiterated its commitment to opening trade in Cambodia, expanding market access, and promoting doing business in Cambodia. Sokheng shared a recent study showing Cambodia export has doubled from 9.4% to 18%. He said trade investment grew 23%. Wu Guoquan of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China added the strong trade relation between China and Cambodia in transportation, tourism, and e-commerce. It resulted in higher income, infrastructure connectivity, and sustainability,” according to the AVI’s press release seen by Fresh News on Monday.
