Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced to lift mask mandate in open public places nationwide, speaking in a special voice message on Tuesday (26 Apr).

The premier’s announcement came after the meeting outcomes between Cambodian economy and finance minister Aun Pornmoniroth and health minister Mam Bunheng.

In this regard, people can decide whether they want to wear mask, but indoor mask-wearing is still a mandatory at the enclosed places such as air-condition offices, theatre and other crowded places, the premier added.

"In order to ensure the resilience of the mask mandate and avoid high infected cases, I would like to call on our people to receive at least three doses of COVID19 vaccine, which is now a mandatory,” the premier continued.

“Even though I used the term “three doses is mandatory”, our citizens shall get the vaccine based on voluntary principle,” Samdech added.
