Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen received a courtesy call and recalled bitter memories with Australian lieutenant general John Sanderson, who is a former force commander of the international military component of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC), on Wednesday (27 Apr) at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.

After the meeting, premier Hun Sen will host a reception for John Sanderson and his delegation.

The government will arrange visits for John Sanderson to former war zones, especially to the former Khmer Rouge-ruled territories that UNTAC forces had no access at that time.

John Sanderson’s visit to Cambodia marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Australia and the 30th anniversary of UNTAC.
