Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen shared six recommendations to promote and develop education sector in Cambodia, speaking in the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the Ministry of Education in Phnom Penh, held on Wednesday (27 Apr).

The six recommendations are as follows:

1. Further enhance education system to become resilient and proactive in accordance to national and international context. Moreover, further ensure education quality and promote lifelong learning opportunities for students and solve concerns affected by the COVID19.

2. Build and develop capacity of the education system by ensuring the leadership and management of education officials at all levels through teacher training reforms, improving the efficiency of financial cooperation, policy development and education planning as well as regular professional development for teachers and education officers.

3. Further develop digital education for human resources training in the context of social evolution and digital economy through integrating digital technology in all education levels, providing digital laboratories, promoting teachers' digital ability such as creating video tutorials and digital content on core subjects for national exam preparation.

4. Actively involve in youths’ activities by positively contributing to social works and other volunteer youth programs to help local communities as well as building hard and soft skills for youths for job opportunities.

5. Be well-prepared for the upcoming SEA Games 2023 by cooperating with all concerned parties, boosting and training athletes for national team, promoting physical education and sports activities in educational institutions.

6. Continue to improve health and hygiene in educational institutions, in particular the implementation of health measures, and pay attention on students' mental and physical health, who is directly or indirectly affected by the COVID19 pandemic.
