Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 28 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen instructed relevant authority to consider transferring COVID19 patients from Olympic Stadium to either Loung Mae or Chak Angre Hospital, so that the stadium can resume its operation.

The premier spoke in a meeting with Cambodian athletes before they depart to the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, on Thursday (28 Apr) at Koh Pich Theater, Phnom Penh.

“Relevant authority should consider transferring COVID19 patients from the Olympic Stadium to either Loung Mae or Chak Angre Hospital. In this regard, we can handover the Olympic Stadium to the sport associations to prepare for the upcoming SEA Game in 2023,” the premier underlined.

As for 27 April 2022, Cambodia reported only five new cases of COVID19 and this low figure was achieved due to effective implementation of health measures and successful vaccination.
