Phnom Penh (FN), May 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen sent a special voice message on Saturday evening to the compatriots, stating that Cambodia reported zero case of COVID19 confirmed case today and that is an unprecedented record in the history since the February 20 community transmission.

Today is the first time since the 20 February community transmission that Cambodia reported zero case of COVID19 confirmed case.

This record breaking came after Cambodia lifting some preventive measures for the people during the Khmer New Year holidays, the premier said.

The premier considered that the infection rate after the New Year is seen as a success, with only a single digit confirmed case.

However, Samdech continued to call on his compatriots to continue to protect themselves from the spread of COVID19 by strictly adhering to health measures.

In the voice message, premier Hun Sen called on his compatriots to receive the third and fourth dose of the COVID19 vaccine and also the upcoming fifth dose when the Cambodian Vaccination Committee approved.

Samdech was very proud that the Cambodian people and the Royal of Government have put joint efforts in the fight against these difficult times.

Premier Hun Sen thanked the partner countries for donating vaccines to Cambodia to inoculate her people, which have contributed to the kingdom’s full reopening as well as living the new normal.
