Phnom Penh (FN), May 18 — Cambodia and India intended to organize a high-level visit in the near future, which coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, according to the outcomes of the meeting between Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday via video conference.

In the meeting, premier Hun Sen said that both Cambodia and India are now looking for a suitable time for Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni’s visit in 2023, and Cambodian army commander Hun Manet’s visit to India this year to further expand bilateral ties.

Samdech also invited premier Modi to visit Cambodia before the upcoming ASEAN Summit 2022 and related meetings.

At the invitation of premier Hun Sen, Modi expressed his interest in visiting the kingdom and attending the ASEAN Summit as well as related meetings in November 2022.

Premier Hun Sen also looks forward to receiving the visit of premier Modi.

Samdech said that to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-India bilateral relations, the two countries have agreed to prepare a list of joint activities in the spirit of unity and solidarity, as well as cooperation between the two countries and the two peoples.

Prime minister Modi expressed his satisfaction with today's conversation and also expressed his condolences over the loss of premier Hun Sen's elder brother Hun Neng.

On that occasion, premier Modi pointed out that India and Cambodia have had a long relationship, especially among the two cultures and civilization.
