Phnom Penh (FN), May 25 – The action of the former leaders of the court-dissolved opposition party CNRP posting pictures of the Candlelight Party's electoral campaign activities on social media may cause trouble to the latter.

“Talking of political rights, they [former CNRP leaders] have no rights to participate in any political activities. Using the picture from the Candlelight Party during the electoral campaign might cause trouble to the latter and lead to legal investigation,” spokesperson of the National Election Committee (NEC) Hang Puthea told Fresh News on Wednesday.

Many former CNRP leaders living abroad, including Mu Sochua, posted and shared the pictures of the Candlelight Party's electoral campaign activities on their Facebook page.

Mu Sochua was banned from political activity for five years after the CNRP was dissolved by the court in 2017. So far, Mu Sochua and other former CNRP leaders have not been politically rehabilitated.
