Phnom Penh (FN), Jun 7 – A group of Indonesian women, as the international observers, said they are honored and satisfied to learn about the maturity of Cambodia’s democratic process, particularly proud to see the elections run smoothly in a calm, free, and transparent climate.

The group is led by Ermalena (PPP), and accompanied by Tari Siwi Utami (Hanura); Dwi Astuti Wulandari (Nasdem); Evi Fatimah (PKB ); Fauziah Pujiwati (Golkar); and Patrika S.A Paturusi (PPP).

The Indonesian observers also paid courtesy call on Cambodian premier Hun Sen at the Peace Palace a day before the elections. They learn more about the kingdom’s effective control on COVID19, which allows the country to fully open, welcome international tourists, and allow Cambodian citizens overseas to return home to cast a vote.

Cambodia held her 5th communal election on Sunday (Jun 5) with over 80% voter turnout. At least 17 political parties compete in the elections, according to press release issued by National Election Committee.
