Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 16 – Cambodian information minister Khieu Kanharith questioned the double standard of freedom of expression implemented by some countries and organizations after they reacted to the court’s decision on the case of Seng Theary.

Cambodian information minister wrote on his Facebook on Thursday (Jun 16) as follows:

“When Cambodian court convicted [their] subordinate, they [some western countries and organizations which preach human rights] shouted about the "freedom of expression". However, they never answer the question I asked around 90 days ago why they shut down Russia Today, Sputnik and imposed sanctions on all Russian broadcasting medias since the Russia-Ukraine war outbreak?”

“Do they have a single standard of freedom of expression or not?” the minister asked.
