Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 28 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned that the kingdom has detected new cases of COVID19 following the absence of case over the last 52 days.

The premier spoke in a special voice message on Tuesday (Jun 28).

The premier called on people to be vigilant, further adhere to health measures, and rush to get vaccinated or booster shot.

The premier said that regarding to the presence of COVID19 in Cambodia, the Ministry of Health has detected community case of COVID19 through PCR tests among those who tested for overseas travel and those returned from overseas.

"We can assume that COVID19 comes back despite a small number and less serious symptoms. Thus, I would like to call on people to be vigilant in protecting their health in order to avoid further spread in communities, among families and institutions," the premier underlined.

Samdech urged the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities to strictly monitor the situation to avoid a serious outbreak that may occur in the future.
