Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 30 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn, in his capacity as the special envoy of ASEAN chair on Myanmar, expressed his interest to meet with all parties concerned during his second working visit to Myanmar, speaking at a press conference before heading to Myanmar on a working visit.

"Apart from meeting with State Administrative Council (SAC ), we also request to meet with non-SAC parties. We propose to meet with different actors, different political parties, and Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs), as well as representatives of other political parties," the special envoy underlined.

“Our responsibility is to ask for the cooperation from all parties in order to convey the message from ASEAN and international community. Thus, we are able to listen and seek common grounds for all parties concerned," Sokhonn continued.

Sokhonn added, we do not force any country to follow a model of our country, but we want them to learn from the experience we share and see progress towards peace and national unity.

Prak Sokhonn is leading a delegation to pay a second working visit to Myanmar from 29 June to 03 July 2022. He is accompanied by Ekkaphab Phanthavong, deputy secretary-general of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), and a number of senior government officials, as well as staff from the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC).
