Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 20 – The president of Krirk University and board of trustees of Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) Krasae Chanawongse offered 40 scholarships to Cambodia.

Krasae Chanawongse spoke during a courtesy call on Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen on Wednesday (Jul 20) at the Peace Palace.

Chanawongse briefed the premier about his three main objectives visiting the kingdom as follow (1) to report on the progress of ADPC, which has so far transformed into an international center; (2) to offer 40 full scholarships for Cambodian students to study in Thailand under the premier’s name; and (3) to request for permission to pay a courtesy call on the premier next year.

In response, premier Hun Sen expressed his congratulations and excitement that the ADPC has become an international center. Samdech recommended that this organization should be encouraged to take action to prevent disasters.

On this occasion, the premier thanked Chanawongse for offering scholarships under the name of Samdech Techo for Cambodian students to pursue their education in Thailand. He also requested Chanawonngse to further discuss with Cambodian education, youth and sport minister Hang Chuon Naron to select potential students to pursue their education in Thailand.

Regarding the request to pay courtesy call on Samdech again next year, Samdech expressed his pleasure to meet with Chanawongse every time he visits the kingdom.
