Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen ordered the labor and vocational training minister [Ith Samheng] and the premier’s cabinet to solve the 400 Canterne Factory employees’ salaries issue, which the factory owner has not paid for months.

The premier spoke at the graduation ceremony of students of Puthisastra University, held on Wednesday (Aug 17) at OCIC, Phnom Penh’s Chroy Chongvar district.

“Take the government budget to solve this issue,” the premier underlined.

The main reason why the factory employees have not received their salaries is due to factory's bankruptcy. As a result, the factory employees submitted petitions to the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training for almost two months, but did not receive any solutions. Therefore, on 15 August 2022, they submitted petitions to the premier’s cabinet.
