Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 17 – On 6 August 2022, Cambodia Travel Goods and Leather Association (CTLA) launched its grand opening ceremony in Sofitel Phnom Penh Phookethra. There were around 500 participants including the association members, sponsors, and partners attended this event. With the highest presentative of Men Sam An, deputy prime minister and minister of Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, Pan Sorasak, minister of Ministry of Commerce, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, chairman of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, many other officials from various ministries, business associations & chambers, and other representative from various companies.

As one of the event sponsors, Huawei Cambodia would like to congratulate for the grand opening ceremony of CTLA. In that special occasion, Huawei Cambodia and CTLA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CTLA for the further cooperation in Green & Smart Campus.

Honoree chairman of CTLA, Neak Oknha Ly Kunthai, mentioned in his welcome remarks “Due to the growing numbers of small and large factories in Cambodia, and the need to establish the independence of the manufacturing sector of each product is increasing, it is necessary and timely to form this association in order to give focus on each product with efficiency”. Moreover, the Chairman of CTLA, Lim Tong also shared about the export data of bags and travelling products to foreign, with a total value of USD 1,020M. With the continuous growth of the heavy and light industries in Cambodia, this showed the importance of the alliance between Huawei and CTLA.

The MoU between Huawei Cambodia and CTLA aims to work in three significant areas. First and foremost, to work on the green campus solutions by providing solutions for solar energy, electric vehicle chargers, and site power to achieve carbon reduction targets. Secondly, Huawei Cambodia will cooperate with CTLA members to provide smart campus solutions including campus network coverage, data centers (including UPSs, cooling systems, storage devices, and servers), dideo conferencing systems and cloud services. Last not least, cooperate on corporate social responsibility, such as ICT and renewable energy education/training and related programs for CTLA employees.

The events ended successfully with the effort from each parties. Huawei deeply appreciate for the MoU, and responded that it’s Huawei’s nature and responsibility to serve the Kingdom, as a Cambodian company.
