Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reacted to analysts who criticized the recent visit of Hun Manet to Viet Nam.

“I would like to inform that Viet Nam invited [Hun Manet] less than Singapore and Japan did. During Manet’s visit to Japan and Singapore, he did not only meet with defense ministers, but also foreign ministers. However, in Viet Nam, he [Hun Manet] only met with the party’s permanent secretary,” the premier spoke at the graduation ceremony of students of Asia Euro University, held on Tuesday (Aug 23) at OCIC, Phnom Penh’s Chroy Chongvar district.

The premier questioned why those analysts did not criticize Manet’s many visits to Japan. Hun Manet visited Japan for three times. The first one was invited by former Japanese prime minister Yukio Hatoyama in 2011; the second time was invited by former Japanese premier Shinzo Abe in 2018; and the third time was invited by Japanese premier Fumio Kishida in February 2022.
