Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 31 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen thanked the people living in the Angkor area who volunteered to relocate their residences, as it helps save Angkor Wat Temple from being eliminated from UNESCO world heritage list.

The premier spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for two new flyovers in Phnom Penh, held on Wednesday (Aug 31).

“If it is illegal to do so [living in the Angkor Wat area], we might lose the Angkor Wat Temple from the World Heritage List as we have not complied with the obligations set by the World Heritage Committee,” the premier underlined.
