Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 8 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen strongly supported the establishment of ASEAN Economic Club in the kingdom and the establishment of the Cambodia Development Fund as initiated by the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific.

Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen received a courtesy call by Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, the president of KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, held Thursday morning (Sep 8) at the Peace Palace.

Yeoh requested the premier to support his proposals as follow: (1) the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Club and (2) and Cambodia Green Economy Initiative and Cambodia Development Fund to promote human resource development in the Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence fields.

The president also congratulated the premier as the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2022 and applauded his wise leadership which has brought peace and stability, the indispensable elements for rapid social-economic development.

For his part, premier Hun Sen strongly supports KSI's both proposals.

KSI is an independent not-for-profit think tank dedicated to improve socio-economic wellbeing through the development of public policy ideas through research, public interactions, insights, and intelligence.
