Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 13 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call by newly appointed Asian Development Bank (ADB) country director to Cambodia, Jyotsana Varma, held on Tuesday (Sep 13) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
"During the courtesy call, Prak Sokhonn extended his warm welcome and congratulation to Jyotsana Varma for her appointment. He underlined the importance of close cooperation partnership between Cambodia and ADB and thanked ADB, as one of Cambodia’s main development partners, for its assistance and financing toward Cambodia, which has contributed significantly to the socio-economic development in Cambodia," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Sep 13).
"Particularly during the critical time of global health threat, ADB assisted the Royal Government in its immediate response to the COVID19 pandemic through programs to strengthen the country’s health care system, increase social assistance to the poor and vulnerable, and provide economic stimulus to businesses, including SMEs".
