Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen encouraged banks and microfinance institutions to confiscate the assets of those who refuse pay back the bank loans following incitements from ill-intended groups.

The premier spoke in the graduation ceremony of nearly 4,000 students of Vanda Institute, held on Monday (Oct 3) at OCIC, Phnom Penh’s Chroy Chongvar district.

“Failure to repay loan means breaching the loan contracts, so confiscation of the assets shall be done,” the premier underscored.

Some opposition groups have spread propaganda that if their political parties win the elections, they will cancel all loan repayments.
