Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned that any political parties who involved in Sam Rainsy’s plan to overthrow Cambodian government in 2023 will face lawsuits.

The premier spoke at the graduation ceremony of over 6,000 students of National University of Management (NUM), held on Monday (Oct 17) at OCIC, Phnom Penh’s Chroy Chongvar district.

"It is okay if you compete in the elections. Yet you will be punished if you plan to destroy democracy and our constitution,” the premier continued.

On 16 October 2022, Sam Rainsy, who is living in exile in France, announced again a plan to overthrow the Cambodian government in 2023, as Cambodia will hold national elections.

On his Facebook page, Sam Rainsy appealed to Cambodian people and the armed forces to change leader next year.
